  memorabilia. The retired librarian died recently of cancer in Southern California.

Other MCL Media

The PBS television show The History Detectives is producing an undprecedented one-hour special on the Mayme A. Clayton Collection of African American History & Culture.  Producer Carol Sherman and researcher Chelsea Chick visited the Mayme A. Clayton Collection January 12 - 13, 2007 along with members of the Library of Congress.  The PBS team searched and found materials for the upcoming episode, which will complete production in about 6 weeks from January 30, 2007.  When we have an air time for the program we will post it on the website.

Los Angeles Magazine (February 2007) designated the Western States Black Research and Education Center (WSBREC) website as the Website of the Month!  The Los Angeles Magazine article urges its readers to visit the website to contribute to help save and share an important Los Angeles collection.ww.wsbrec.o

Time Magazine for Children interview with reporter Kathy Satterfield.  We will notify you about the publication date

CNN interview with reporter Karan Olson.  We will post the air date.

The AARP Bulletin Magazine interview and feature story with reporter Blair Walker will be available in February.

Arts & Antiques Magazine will present a feature story in their March issue.

U. S. Department of State:  Avery Clayton will have his artwork included in an exhibition at the American Embassy in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

KLCS, the Los Angeles Unified School District television station interview with host Sean Rector (Survivor television show winner).  The program is scheduled to air during February (Black History Month).
